A Million Years Later...
So I've been scarce. I admit it. Well, I've been scarce here, anyway. I'm not sure anyone noticed, because most everyone who reads my blog (that I know of, at any rate) are people I talk to all the time anyway. But here I am again, posting. And I thought I'd post something slightly more real this time than just song lyrics, though I don't think of the song lyrics I post as fake. Just not quite as informative as I think a weblog was intended for. Anyway.
There's a website called DeviantArt that allows people to post their artwork and other various images/literature for showing others, and I've signed up for an account. Y'all can see it here, it's easier than posting all my artwork to Xanga for showing off, particularly since my browser has been misbehaving for several weeks. I don't know if you can comment on anything without having an account (I don't think you can) but if anybody really has something burning inside them to say about my work they can do it here or get me through email or whathaveyou. There are only four dozen ways to get a hold of me, after all.
I've gotten some okay business lately. There's a flea market this weekend somewhere near Framingham (I think) which I could've gotten into, but it turns out we have plans and I can't make it. But I've got two pieces going into an auction (I think it's a silent auction, not sure) for charity. This means I won't be getting any money out of it, but it's for a good cause and at least people are getting my name. And I got to give business cards, too, which is nice. Especially now that I've gotten them printed. And now that I have, I can send out all the pieces I've promised people distantly (that means you too, Lilly :D). The auction, if anyone's interested, is the Second Annual Caregivers Chocolate Lovers Fantasy at PSNH Energy Park in the Manchester Millyard, Manchester New Hampshire. It's May 16th (which is the same day as William's birthday party so I won't even be there) from noon to four, and tickets are like fifteen bucks a pop. This is a small price to pay when you consider how much chocolate, cookies, cakes, and other goodies are going to be there, and it's for a really good cause. The Caregivers are a group that helps the frail, elderly and disabled to maintain their independence and dignity, which is a pretty decent venture. Mom and I have done some work for them in the past, and her office does a lot with them as well. If you're interested in tickets, call 603-622-4948. The cover charge goes straight into donations, not covering the event itself. Everything's been provided by donatoin, as far as I'm aware. Some of the sponsors are Comcast, WZID (radio station, 97.5 in my neck of the woods), Rae Systems and others. So if you're going to be in the area at the time indicated, you should check it out.
That's about all that's going on lately. Still taking a class on jewelry making (stone settings and whatnot) which is going... alright, I suppose. Not as swimmingly as I'd hoped, but practice makes perfect. At least I've found a way to make use of all the settings I've accidentally melted by being too zealous with the torches. And I've only burned myself seriously like once, which wasn't even all that bad. Just the tip of my finger, and totally my fault. That's what I get for being grabby. ;)
Anyway, that's about it for me. Hope y'all are doing swell.
Peace outside.
